Collage

Teaching myself the art of the (digital) collage through various projects. Most of the cut out images are things I cut out myself from stock images.

Protest Collage

I created a collage featuring the words and images of three voices of protest.

Nina Simone “Mississippi Goddam” — about the murder of Medgar Evers by the KKK and the church bombing in Birmingham ◾️ Lauryn Hill “I Find it Hard to Say (Rebel)” — about the murder of Amadou Diallo. 41 shots fired by four officers on an innocent and unarmed man in front of his apartment ◾️ June Jordan “Poem About My Rights” — powerful words on resistance and self-determination.

Cargo Portfolio Hover Collages

I thought creating a collage that summarized the work behind each link would be a clever way to help people decide if they wanted to click into each category. The collage appears when the cursor hovers over the category link, and the images in the collage cover up the other category links.

Services Product Images

Product Images for a service (fashion product copywriter). Collages are a popular medium in the fashion world, so it felt both appropriate and useful in this case. There was only space for three images, so I utilized the collage to showcase different examples of product copy on each image. As the images are marketing a professional service of copywriting, I tried to keep the additional elements tasteful and minimal. The use of typography (a wide sans serif and small monotype) really helped ground the images.
