100 Days of Illustration

Exploration of different styles and subjects done on Instagram.

For many years I had a very clean and minimal aesthetic, with little to no textures or backgrounds. I wanted to challenge myself to try and incorporate textures and backgrounds, without losing my signature style.

Below is my first drawing —

From this safe and comfortable starting point, I branched out into different directions. In some of these pieces, I drew the artwork in Illustrator and then digitally painted it in Photoshop, adding textures like speckles and rougher brush strokes. In others I would draw and paint in Photoshop, resulting in less clean but more organic-looking artwork.

Clothing Illustrations

A series of clothing drawings that I later made into sticker sheets!

Coloring Book

A coloring book available as a digital download here

I love Taro Gomi’s doodling books, and decided to make one of my own, but with a storyline! In this twenty-seven page book, the user “adopts” a unicorn and imagines a fun weekend with this unicorn friend. Drawings are left unfinished for the user to finish them, and there’s plenty of space to make it into a coloring exercise as well.

Grocery Flier

A contest submission for Trader Joe’s. The contest was to create a cartoon for the Holiday Fearless Flyer, but I made an entire Fearless Flyer for fun. All artwork, copy, layouts, and puns are by me.
